If the English are identified with tea then the French, or at least the Champenois, are certainly identified with champagne. In the same way that many of us drink tea or, these days, perhaps coffee, at the drop of a hat, in Champagne the drink of choice is champagne for just about any and every moment of the day.
That doesn’t mean to say that you have to be very formal every time you get the champagne out. Quite the opposite in fact; sometimes the more improptu the moment the better the result.
